How SPUNBOND iS made…

Spunbond is a nonwoven fabric made from 100% pure polypropylene. Polypropylene pellets are melted and extruded into fine fibres which in turn are laid and bonded to form spunbond fabric. The unique technology used in its fabrication allows for equal strength in both machine and cross direction of the fabric. The fabric is produced to the highest quality and complies with European standards and regulations.

THE RESULT

  • Non-woven fabric with equal strength in both machine and cross direction
  • Strong, durable & versatile
  • 100% recyclable
  • Non-toxic and free of leachables and lubricants

Quality control

Our sister company Spunchem Africa targets the industrial market with spunbond fabric. These products require specific technical characteristics. Rigorous quality and performance compliance is thus required according to the EDANA* test methods. These include:

  • Tensile tests including elongation and tear strength
  • UV light resistance tests
  • Heat retardant/long term heat stability tests
  • Waterproof tests (for laminated spunbond)

Spunbond is available in the following colours:
